How to
overcome stage fright?
Stress –
our old friend. Everybody knows him, but the question is: Does everybody like
him? I don’t think so... As you know,
stress has two faces. On the one side, it motivates us but on the other hand,
it has a disastrous impact on our health! What is going on? Do you know what
are the causes of stage fright? Well, one of the most significant factures is
fear of humiliation resulting often from uncertainty and low self-esteem. It is
normal when you stress before going on stage but it is crucial to have control
over it and to calm down. It’s up to you!
Firstly,
remember that is you up on the stage, not the others. You are the one who is
singing, playing. You should ask yourself: Do I really want to sing for the
others? Do I want that they listen to my music? If the answer sounds YES,
forget about negative things. Be positive and focus on getting into the hearts
of your listeners and spectators. Just believe in yourself. Don’t think that
something may go wrong. In most cases, your worries are unnecessary. If you
make a mistake, very often you are the only person besides your band who knows
about it. Of course, you are firmly
convinced that all the rest knows that, but... they don’t. Trust me. Focus on
positive things and have fun on stage!
